Flying Cutoff Saw

When our customer approached us with their unique challenge of needing a flying cutoff saw that did not require clamping the tube as it was being cut, we knew we had a difficult task ahead. All the "off the shelf" flying cutoff saws had clamping systems, and our efforts to find one without a clamping system were unsuccessful. However, we were determined to find a solution that met our customer's needs.

One of the main challenges we faced was the need to precisely measure the traverse speed of a spinning tube. This was critical because if our speed was off, it could result in breaking the delicate blade required to leave a burr-free cut on the tubes. We had to develop a feedback control sensor system that could accurately measure the speed of the tube and adjust the saw accordingly.

Overall, the design process of creating a flying cutoff saw without a clamping system was a challenging but rewarding undertaking. We are proud of the work we did on this project and are pleased that we were able to find a solution that met our customer's unique needs. We look forward to continuing to provide innovative solutions to our customers in the future.
